Indoor Camp Counselor:
Job Summary
Our Indoor Rock Climbing Camp is for children ages 5 - 12. This camp runs 5 days a week from 9 am - 3 pm with options for early drop off and late pickup. This summer camp is for all levels of climbers, from first timers to kids who participate in our youth programs year round. Each week is themed, and activities include climbing, arts and crafts, games, outdoor activities, and park trips. Participants will also receive instruction on different climbing techniques and basic skills ranging from hold identification to body positions. We have a 1:6 ratio with up to 24 kids per week.
Responsibilities
Indoor Camp counselors are responsible for the safety and experience of our campers ages 5 - 12. Counselors will maintain a high level of safety and order, and provide a safe and exciting experience for all campers. During the day, counselors will run a variety of climbing games, belay participants, facilitate activities such as arts and crafts, and oversee outdoor games. Counselors will closely manage snack and lunch breaks, assisting with any needs like opening containers and cutting sandwiches. Counselors will communicate professionally with parents during drop off and pick up to notify them of any pertinent information in regards to their camper. Additionally, counselors will handle any issues with our three strike policy, providing appropriate discipline to participants and bringing issues to the youth programs coordinator and managers when necessary. Counselors will also participate in daily meetings after all children are picked up to discuss the day.
Compensation
Pay ranges from $15-$18/hr, depending on experience and qualifications. Staff working at least 4 shifts per month receive full gym membership benefits including one guest pass per month and retail discounts. All NH C+F staff have opportunities for professional development and pay increases after yearly reviews.
Outdoor Camp Counselor:
Job Summary
Our outdoor summer camp offers three different camps for a variety of ages and skills. Camps run Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Our Adventure Camp for ages 9 - 12 is a slower paced camp with outdoor rock climbing, hiking, and swimming. Our Outdoor Skills Camp is for ages 12 - 16, with a focus on safety skills in the backcountry. This includes navigation skills, first aid training, and outdoor safety skills like fire building and emergency procedures. This camp also includes outdoor rock climbing, hiking, and swimming. Our Advanced Climbing Camp for ages 13 - 17 spends 5 days climbing at Rumney working on climbing techniques, confidence building, and skills.

Outdoor Camp Counselors are responsible for maintaining a high level of outdoor safety, including transporting campers up to an hour away. Counselors will gather campers in the morning and first ensure everyone has all of their required gear. Counselors will then load everyone into the van and drive to the first destination of the day (either rock climbing or hiking). Counselors will be continually doing head checks throughout the day. Lunch and snack breaks may be taken at varied times, depending on the activity and how the group is feeling. Counselors are also responsible for overseeing swimming activities and staying aware of weather conditions, making safety calls when necessary. Summer camp staff hold a meeting after every day of camp to discuss the day and any issues. Staff are expected to bring issues to the youth programs coordinator and managers when necessary. Counselors will host professional interactions with parents during drop off and pick up, discussing the day's activities, any changes to plans, and bringing up any concerns.

Front Desk Staff:
Job Description + Expectations
Front Desk Staff are the first point of contact for our members and guests. They provide exceptional customer service, ensure the facility is clean and safe, and help create a welcoming, inclusive environment. This role blends hospitality, safety awareness, and climbing community knowledge to give every member and guest a great experience.
Qualifications
Previous customer service or sales experience is a plus
A reasonable level of previous rock climbing experience and expertise is preferred to effectively assist members and provide accurate information about climbing activities, safety procedures, and gear.
Compensation
Pay range $16-$18/hr, depending on experience and qualifications
