And the U.S. National Team Members Are…

Team Trials took place this past weekend, March 9-13. We now have the National team for Bouldering, Lead, Speed and the new Combined format, Bouldering and Lead.

The USA Team Trials took place this past weekend at Stone Summit Kennesaw in Atlanta, Georgia. The five-day event saw the selection of the National team for IFSC World Cup and World Championship events. Teams selected were for Bouldering, Lead, Speed, and the new combined format, which will take place in the Paris 2024 Olympics, Bouldering and Lead.

There are five National team members per category. Some athletes, based on last year’s National Team Trials’ results, 2021 Nationals, and international competitions, pre-qualified for the team. Those athletes were Sean Bailey, Nathaniel Coleman, Natalia Grossman, and Brooke Raboutou for Lead and Bouldering, both for the independent categories and the new combined format. The remaining spots for each team were filled based on a similar weighted criteria, taking into consideration the results from National Cups, Nationals, and the Team Trials.

2020 Olympic team member Colin Duffy qualified for the Lead, Bouldering, and the combined Lead and Bouldering teams, while Kyra Condie qualified for Lead-only.

Results and a link to the livestreams are below. The first World Cup of the season, which will be Bouldering-only, is scheduled to take place April 8-10 in Meiringen, Switzerland.
